Title: A SAD DAY
Post by: LFF64 on 03 November 2011, 12:36:07
:'( Wellits been a sad day today I have sent my Omega to the breakers and I am already wishing I hadnt
It had been sat on the drive for a year and a bit due to me using the Pajero ,the omega was leaking oil from the gearbox other than that it was ok I last had it running abouit a year ago to turn it atound on the drive since then it jusy sat there with the battery disconnected .
The other day I reconnected the battery and turned the key and it started almost on the first go I was really impressed
But she has gone now thet rold me it may get put in too auction instead of being broken
Thank you to everyone past and present for making owning and looking after the Omega such a pleasure
Maybe one day  I will buy another

I know how you feel. I sent my red car to the scrap yard a couple of months ago. Big attachment after 100k miles and 11 years.

At least your genuine towing mirrors now have a good home Martin - they're doing sterling service on our TD!
And don't forget to visit Newent 2012 - see: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=38190.0

I'm sure that Markseth felt saddened too when his TD saloon went for scrap last year:

All the required components have been removed ..........  :o

Within the hour, it's about to make it's final journey! :'(

After major surgery, he's now the proud owner of our former TD Estate, so there was a good outcome here. :y

If there's any comfort in it Martin - I'm in Bicester too so you can see mine out and about quite regularly  :y
I had similar feelings when a very loyal Saab 900T went to the breakers after 230k... :-[
