It's too dark & wet to go & look ................. but I'd say yes. Not sure whether via the lights switch itself or via the ignition. :-\ :-\ :-\

I think that's just early prefacelift cars. Mini facelift have a tell tale on the dash itself. ;)

I raised this question some weeks ago regarding my M/F Elite. :)
Both fog light switches are illuminated by a 2.0 watt plastic topped bulb and need the ehadlight switch removing to gain access :y
I have no knowledge of the Facelift type though :'(

Same. In this pic the yellow LED illuminates the top and in the centre you can see the bulb that illuminates the rest

Seems I was hasty in my reply, took unit out replaced bulb and no change, top part illuminated but not the switch, select fog and the panel light comes on. On looking inside it seems that the lED should illuminate the switch as there is a clear light carrier that runns down the board, this brances off into the switch or switches of you have front and rear, it also goes inot the adjusters, took a couple to bits and thats how it seesm, only differnce was the double swich unit which had LED at top bulb middle and 2 LED behind switches. So look like its the LED.
Or have I got it wrong, as it is now i am back to where I was when I first posted this :'(

Ignore previous, right the bulb works but does not seem to illuminate the required parts, if the bulb is removed the unit is dark, so does that mean the LED is gone and the top illumination is coming from the bulb only, hence nothing if bulb is out, just put a lkight source in back of unit and it does light up the switch and controls, so assum LED dead.
