Well after yet another downpour, i got to work this morning to find half the unit under water, a reoccuring problem i thought had been solved, but obviously not. A few minutes later i was having a chat with the guy in the unit next door so i brought the subject up and had a good old whinge about it. Ten minutes after that 2 Ambulances and a police car turned up, the poor guy i had been whinging to had collapsed to the floor stone cold dead after suffering a heart attack.
Puts my bit of water into perspective :-/

That comes under the heading "Not Good"
I always say that is the way I want to go .. damned quick .. but it's hell for the family and/or others involved.
:(

Reminds me of a guy I met at Le Mans once. Bought a few spare grandstand tickets off him, actually. He went off to take someone for a spin in his car a few minutes later, had a fast head-on collision and was killed.
Kept looking at the empty seat in the grandstand thinking I was probably one of the last people he spoke to. Not a nice feeling, poor bloke.

Theres another 3 guys work in that unit, an hour and a half wating for the undertaker to come while your mates lying on a dirty factory floor can't have been much fun. Not surprisingly they shut up shop at lunch time

Not a nice circumstance
Mine is horrid, I repaired the gears on a bike belonging to someone living near me (years ago) and a few weeks later he was killed by a lorry on a roundabout

Yet another delivery to B&Q @ Scunny today, saw a notice 7 pics of a fatal accident there. One of thier drivers was coupling up to a trailer, he put his red airline on & the whole lot started rolling. He'forgotten to put the unit handrake on & when the red line released the trailer brakes the weight of the combined load set it off. He jumped down, ran round the cab to get in & engage the handbrake, did'nt make it & the cab pinned him to the warehouse wall, sadly killing him. He was just a working family man. When the whole lot started rolling he should've simply disconnected the red line which would cut the air to the trailer brakes & stopped the whole thing instantly, but in the heat of the moment????
Makes you think does'nt it? :(

Some sad stories, I don’t think you can take life, or indeed, you health for granted, make the most of it while you can, you never ever know what is around the corner. I remember, well, a moment when my GP said ‘life can be sh1t sometimes’ :(
I am lucky, I am still around, just not the person, physically that I was, but sometimes you have to fight back. :)

nah mate
I have lost both of my parents Dad had a massive heart attack and dropped dead pretty much on the spot and my had cancer that was so advanced she only had a few weeks.
to watch someone whither away is as painful as grieving for someone who went straight away, my last memory of my old man was someone who was fit and (looked) healthy, and fortunatly mum never got to suffer or lose her hair as she was worried about.
i'm like you, i wanna go quickly....preferably in my sleep as well

I know its a tad morbid, but a friend of mine went the best way possible - IMHO
They went, him and his wife both early sixties but young at heart and active, with 2 other friends for a 2 week holiday in Greece, walking, swimming, sight seeing etc etc, had a great time. Flew home to Gatwick, got in the lift on the ground floor, he was dead by the time they reached the next floor - massive heart attack.
Quick, clean and after a great time .. what better way to go. Not so good for those left behind I admit, and pretty bad for the others in the lift.. :(

yup.... said that before to someone and it was the source of many a jolly jape and hearty guffaw for a while..... till the joke wore more than slightly thin and I expressed a little mild displeasure, in a face to face kind of way..... ;)
