can anybody reccomend a decent economic trolley jack. i made a mistake last year of buying a clarkes 3t, which did not do the job. apart from the issue it wasn,t strong enough i made a mistake of buing a hilift type. :)

I have an Arcan 3 ton jack, served me very, very well. Fact jack pole splits in two is very handy, upper section as been used as a breaker bar many times.
Cost £70 from Costco, its not always there though.
Its also quite low so never have issues with it getting stuck....

Also like fact the lift plate is quite flat, Clarke one was not, and quite big teeth at the edge.

Costco occasionally carry those Jacks (branded something else IIRC, but clearly identical) - good jacks. Nicer than my Halfords 3T jack as they're lower and wider.

are they now branded as liftmaster,

I can't remember I'm afraid - a friend has one, not me.. it lifted my Omega no problems, however - but so does my Halfords 3T jack (though it's not one of their new 'speedy lift' ones as it's quite old).
Pretty much any 3T trolley jack should lift an Omega though..

Got a 3.5 tonne Rolson one, apparently shite but never failed to lift anything inc fully laden transits!
Do fancy one of the costco ones though

I totally missed that you'd already said they were from Costco.. ;D Must learn to read. Go to the bottom of the class, Aaron. :-[
I'm sure Mark's is branded something else, though.. albeit it's definitely identical. His squeaks something chronic now (8 years on) but I'm going to blame his total lack of mechanical sympathy for that!

I've got a couple of these.....

It's cheap but lifts my Mig OK :y The only thing I could complain about is that the handle could be longer..... ;)

I had one of those once, folded up like a cardboard box. Although partly because the small wheels dug into the drive.

I have had to start using my mickey mouse jack again ::)
