Title: Oil Cooler Pipes
Post by: mikeh on 08 November 2011, 09:54:58
Hi, can the oil cooler pipe union nuts be removed at the cylinder block end with an open ended spanner or can it only be done with a crows foot style socket (something I don't possess)?
Thanks,
Mike.

Crows foot Im afraid. No access for open ended spanner. Two choices - buy a crows foot spanner,or gently bend the pipes up and out of the way from the top.I have bent them out of the way (slowly & gently) but im not recommending it as I wouldnt want to get blamed if it went wrong. ;)

I don't possess any crow foots spanners either so the answer must be yes ;)

however... When I took mine off the engine was out of the car and the oil filter was off so YMMV (your mileage may vary)
