Title: Ccrt700 head unit replacement
Post by: ALLYMV6 on 08 November 2011, 23:26:55
Hi guys, just new to the site and hopefully someone can help me out here. I've recently bought a 99 mv6 with a ccrt700 head unit. I have removed it and replaced it with a pioneer deh 6300 which was in my previous omega. The head unit is doing all the right things but there is no sound. Would this have something to do with the audio system that's in this car?!!!! Cheers

I'd guess the CCRT was probably Bose enabled. Is there Bose in the car? If so the aftermarket HU won't be compatible ;)

Amp and speakers will need to be replaced - Bose is 2 ohm. ;)

Have took a quick look to see if Bose is stamped anywhere but don't see it. How can I tell if it is that system?!!!!

If saloon, speakers on rear shelf with amp underneath. Estate, amp in o/s cubby hole in load area, speaker, n/s cubby hole

Did look under shelf and there is no speakers or amp, there is just the wiring loom for it taped up underneath. So does this mean that the pioneer should operate in the car?!!!!

If its a non bose car, there is nothing incompatible.

Is the adapter between the car loom and the stereo the right one?  Guess your stereo just needs 3 power lines, the 8 connections for the speakers, and the aerial......

hey guys got the pioneer problem sorted. there is no bose system in the car and i plugged the hu into another car and it was the same problem so i took the cheap option first and got a new wiring harness for the hu and plugged it in and now its up and running, HAPPY DAYS :y. BIG THANKS for those who give me the different options.
