The locking catch on one of the rear seats of the saloon has packed up. It used to release fine but was a bit of a trick to lock again as the catch didn't go down fully when the button was pressed and had to be levered with a little screwdriver. It seems to have got a lot worse recently so now I'm reluctant to lock it and just push the seat back without locking it which isn't ideal. Are they removable and fixable, and how easy are they to get at? The car has leather and heated seats.

Sorry pal, can't help you off the top of my head, but I'll have a look at mine tomorrow and see if we can sort something out.
In the meantime someone with more info may come along! :y

Temporarily you could remove the locking pin it locates into.
It could be something daft like a bit of dirt going down beside the button and stopping it rising again by its own spring. Try pushing it right down and tapping the button top then again using a fine pipe fitted the hoover to suck around the button while its held down, or the airline from a tyre inflator to blow down the gap. Try also a decent squirt of WD too (I used MultiLube which is an invisible PTFE one).
Taking the seat cover off is a pig of a job and you might have to go down that road.

The buton rises ok, it's just that it won't press down fully and the catch inside the seat doesn't move unless coaxed with a screwdriver. I'll try the lube route - have some silicone spray so will give it a squirt as a starter. I have removed the plastic pins recuring the card backing of the seat but there isn't ready acess to the catch; it looks like it's buried inside the foam which is bound to be glued on so it'll probably require a complete de-upholstering to get to it >:(
