The BC features are all based around a speed pulse from the ABS and a fuel use signal from Engine ECU.
Check control is individual signals in.
All the above is built into Omega display.
Can the TID be upgraded to include trip computer funtctions without a factory HU?
If 'Yes', what would be required?
Al. :y

Yes.
MID, a new wiper stalk, and a bit of wiring (mostly around fooling check control)
-
Ok :y.
So would the MID come from a CD or CDX and need pairing (to the ECU presumably) :-\
And would the loom from donor car suffice?
Could the GID be used instead?
:y
-
MID needs to come from a similar engine/gearbox/HID car (else well need Tech2). No pairing. Grey plug one would be better due to better reliability.
GID - no, that won't float your boat.

I likes a challenge... ::) 2.6 manual CDX :-\

CID then?

CID then?
Errr, NO!
GID and CID need NCDx HU...
-
Oh ok. ::)
Mud cleared.
Will a CDX suffice for the parts/loom?

Yours is 3.2? No CDX was 3.2 ;)
But any MID (can be reprogrammed), and a suitable wiper stalk with S and R buttons. Wiring is minimal TBH.
-
Was thinking a 2.6, but no matter if it needs programming anyways. :y
Suspect that the stalk will plug straight in, as the car seems to have most of the wiring for all the toys that the 3.2 would normally have :-\

If you're *really* lucky, you'll have the wiring from stalk to MID, but no hassle if you dont - all easy peasy stuff :y
Until you get MID reprogrammed, the MPG/Range etc will be rubbish.
You won't get Check Control to work, so you have to do wiring changes to fool the MID into thinking these sensors are good

What is it lacking then?

Sump level sensor.
Coolant Level Sensor
Washer Level Sensor
Brake Pad Sensor
Bulb monitoring
I think.

Pad sensor is present even if the car has TID, will illuminate relevant light below the display :y
Coolant level: wires are there, you just need a new bottle with sensor
Washer level: the same BUT you can fit only the sensor to existing bottle (I think...)
Sump level sensor would require sump removal and dunno of the wiring.
Bulb monitoring is the trickiest part as you should put the CheckControl unit to your car and that might require some serious wiring
-
Where does the check control module live?

Think that sump level might be the one other piece of the puzzle that is missing. Don't recall any stray wiring there aboots :-\
Brake pad wire certainly there, connected to thin air at mo (just to keep light off as clip busted) ::).
A couple of days forced hols next week, so may go rummaging. :y
