Title: cruise stalk reading
Post by: Bob G on 10 November 2011, 22:31:50
thought as it is electrical should be here.  Ok installed cruise no works, correct brake switch, advised to check the stalk, using trusty meter located the common plug on the fly lead, touched + to first pin no reading, pressed switch as though activating cruise and meter gave reading, did the same for increase speed, fianlly the O button, as sone as the probe touched the pic it gave a reading.  Is this correct?

On these ones, there is a common, others are all connected to individual wires via PTM switch iirc

I used the common then tested each pin as I said on and increase gave reading on being pressed bu off gave reading as soon as the probe touched the pin so is the correct? before I replace with a new stalk  :-\

Assuming that PTB is press to break and the others are Press to make then it seems my stalk is ok in that I and O had to be pressed and off had a reading straight away seems stalk is ok, so might be the actual cruise unit then?

assuming fitted correctly, and bowden cable not jammed, I'd still go for brake switch ;)

All is fitted correctly and free running so I will swop the switch with the one Albs sent and see if that helps, contorsion time then I guess >:(
