This from my Dad
"I put a couple of jumpers on under my shirt, as I had to stand for 10 minutes or so, in my Green Howards jacket, showing my own medal on one side and my father's on the other side of my chest. I stood next to my old friend from the Band . He had brought one of his players with him to perform the Last Post - and he did an excellent job of that.
Then, after that I had a surprise. As I walked down with all the other people on to Westborough, I noticed a young man in his 20's observing me. When I got there, he walked up to me and said - "Excuse me sir, would you mind shaking my hand please?". I was taken aback a bit of course, but said "of course, and good luck to you lad". (I was so surprised that I could not think of anything better in the spur of the moment). However - it certainly made my day. "
Well done that young man.

In such a simple act it certainly helps us believe that there are sufficient individuals out there to make a real difference and how mistakenly inappropriate – and wrong – it is to categorise people and their anticipated behaviour in general terms, particularly younger people.
