There are a lot of farmer here around and often protest against low flying when national team excercise. It's said cows loose their ability of milking and hens won't lay eggs...true or not...??? :-\ :-\ :-\ Not to mentioned the frightened people... :-\ :-\ :-\

I remember reading (several years ago) of a Cumbrian farmer, whom had tired of the nearly constant low-flying of fast-jets in his valley; so he had daubed the phrase:

P*ss off! Biggles

in 12ft. high day-glo letters on the roof of his barn......

.....the tactic somewhat backfired on him, as aircrew frequently flew diverted sorties in order to take pictures of the barn roof! ;D

'Tis a true story Debs ... flew over it on numerous occasions  :)  There was also a barn in North Wales that had a large "Single Digit" finger painted on the roof  :)

In North Carolina there is a very large US Army training base where basic parachuting is taught to the GRUNTS, about 200 yards from the edge of the DZ was a house with "Happy Girls" and a telephone number writ very large on the side of the roof facing the DZ..... yup .. the local brothel with a clever "madam"  :)
