Hi,Hope someone can help with this. We have a 3.2 Omega and it has started to run really roughly when you start it (like half the spark plugs are missing) the ""exhaust emmission" light has also come on, for three days it did this on the way to work but was ok coming home (8 miles) for the last two days it has been constantly rough.

A good place to start is probably to get the codes from the ECU using the pedal trick: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90581.0
A common fault is also oil or water stopping the coils from firing properly - the first half of a spark plug change will tell you if that's the problem and allow you to inspect the condition of the coil packs, water ingress from the scuttle seal can damage them and/or oil ingress from failed cam cover seals: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90536.0

whats the mileage? check the plugs for oil or water, could also be coil pack breaking down. But do pedal test first :)

Read the codes, a big clue will be there :y
And its free to read on a V6 :D

Hi,
Thank you all for the replies, will try the pedal test tonight, am very grateful.

Scott I just noticed your location - whereabouts in Bracknell are you? Scratch that - send me a PM if you want to come over (assuming the car is still mobile, otherwise I can probably pop over to you at the weekend) for a second opinion :y

I bet there's water running from the windscreen scuttle onto your coilpack and your plug holes are all full of water :(
-
i have been having rough engine problems.. lited up the scuttle there underneath is a sponge like covering dripping wet water at the back of the engine water in the spark plug wells.... what is the fix

Reseal it - search for scuttle seal and you will find lots of posts :y
