Title: antenna problem
Post by: encino on 14 November 2011, 17:45:56
After removing the non working head unit from my F/L CDX  to fit a good one, I find that the antenna plug has become detached from the back of the cage. Whats the best way to get access to clip it back in?
Regards.

Take cage out.

Be very careful NOT to distort cage

Cheers for that. What actually holds the cage in place, are there clips or is it just a tight push fit?

The cage at the very edges on the sides and the front just lightly clip behind the plastic - look and you will see.

The key, is when pulling out, if it comes about an inch, then stops, thats it catching on the top near the back (use a torch, you will see.  My solution to this is a think plastic strip to easy it past that point.  Just yanking will distort cage.

i thought that the cages were designed to 'fold' in at the top thus making it very easy to remove  :-\ :-\

ummm we are talking about the metal cage arent we  :-[
