Title: Prins LPG systems..
Post by: aaronjb on 15 November 2011, 18:57:04
Quick question - if I recall the Prins system is sealed (i.e. Joe Public can't get the cables & software) but is otherwise a good system, right?

A friend of mine is looking at an Omega with a Prins system, and I want to make sure I steer him right :)

(Said Omega is also over it's cambelt interval and has a knackered ABS module .. I really hope I don't end up doing that job for him ;D .. which means it's cheap, despite the Prins system)

Prins is the cream. It just works, according to my "approved" installer. Who is quite knowledgable, believe it or not. Most expensive to buy, but not available diy. Allegedly ;)

Cool - that's what I thought :)

Still in light of the other work I suggested he restrain himself to a max of £1k for the car (97k on the clock, gay champagne Elite estate).. unless anyone thinks I'm doing him out of a car by telling him to bid low? I figure it needs £3-500 of work depending on who & how he gets the cambelt & ABS pump done..

Seems fair.

Good good :) Ta Chris.

Now lets see if he gets it.

And whether it turns up on my drive needing a cambelt & ABS module ;D

Ah yes, but you've done it before (repeatedly, I suspect?) while I would be attempting to stuff my fat hands into holes to small for them, for the first time..

And we all know it's hardest the first time.

Agreed, Prins system is the Mutt's :y :y

But if it has been fitted poorly then it's worth nothing ;) ;)

If it were me, I would - although I know said friend is going to bid sight-unseen as he can't make it over there before the auction ends.

Not sure I'm brave enough for that!

Perhaps Entwood could have a little look for you/him before the auction ends? :-\ :-\

Unseen I'd be bidding a few hundred under what I'm willing to pay TBH

That would be great for him (Russel is the fellas name), although the auction ends in 9h so it might not give Entwood much chance to get there ;)

I think my suggestion to him was to bid ~£800 but no more than ~£1000 as we know it definitely needs cambelt & ABS module, and it's a fair bet it'll need rocker gaskets and wishbones..

Ah well - Russ missed out on it by £20, apparently..
