It will be Essex V6.....

Nice car, shame it is not a Ghia for that price, seems dear but have you seen the prices of decent Mini's they have gone through the roof for a nice one....... :)

I had one as my first car, although it was in Black, and it had curtains in the back, and an 'Official Mafia Staff Car' sticker in the front. They'll always hold a special place in my heart  :-* :-*

Hey Vamps, the GXL was the prefacelift Ghia hence the earlier dash, bet you remember now! Everyone else, i dunno what a Wessex engine is either!!! & i thought the same on the paint colours on the first pic but it looks ok everywhere else.

I'm not bidding so no need to go & look but it's nice to see such a lovely old bus looking so pretty!

The Ghia was out in 1973, on an 'M' at lease as we had one, 3 including a Coupe over the following 6 years.  iirc there was the Consul and Consul GT, Granada L, GL, GXL and Ghia, the GXL looks to have the same clocks as the Ghia.....I stand to be corrected though, it was a long time ago now....... ::) ::) ::)
Any potential owner should check out the build date for that car though as it may be tax exempt.... :y

I was going to say, at the very least I'd expect it to burble in a slightly more refined accent. ;D

I never thought the Granny (any of them) were pretty, really..

Did see a car I'm sure you'd have gone nuts over, yesterday, though - a burgundy Ford Consul Capri with white roof.. It'd seen better days (the paintwork on the boot lid was cracked & crazed) but no visible rot. It just happened to be parked outside the Chinese near work when I went out for lunch :)
