Title: Omega speedo wiring
Post by: rajveer.sandhu on 19 November 2011, 17:54:03
Does anyone have a diagram and lookup (explanation) for each of the wires on the plug that fits into the odometer/speedo?

I am also looking for the same thing for the TID plug.

Many thanks.

Raj

Nope, guy wants a flashing red light on his dash at around 6,000ish rpm to tell him to change gear rather than looking down.

So does anyone know?

Yes. The speedo signal (as opposed to the RPM signal) is the blue wire with red tracer.

The diagram is also clearly shown at the rear of the Haynes manual.

Yep, the Tacho/RPM wire is the one I am after.
I just wanted to know which wire was the speed wire for future reference.

So why ask for the wrong thing - people are willing to give up their time to help, but not on a fools errand

Green.

I was looking for a diagram that showed all of them not a single wire. - showed have said instrument panel rather than odometer/speedo.
The one I was really after was the RPM one, but if there was a diagram around that showed more than the RPM that would have been a great help, especially for future refernce.
As with many connectors, there may have been wires that looked similar to each other, so having a wider picture would have been beneficial.

BUY A HAYNES MANUAL - like we did  :y. Honest, it's all there for PFL and MFL cars and a huge help for FL ones. I know Haynes are not without their faults - but they actually use GMs wiring diagrams so are very helpful.

Quite. ::)

Not yet found a (factory fitted) wire on my F/L that the haynes diagram can't identify with reasonable certainty. :y
