Title: Snapped Sparkplug
Post by: tom041098 on 20 November 2011, 19:54:41
Having just got over my indicator problem, looks like another has popped up. Had to put the car into masterfit to replace the rocker gasket. They said one of the sparks would not move and were reluctant to really try incase it snapped. I told them to leave it as there were no ignition/running problems. Started today and straight away it sounded really rough, its been a long time, but reckon it sounded like one of the sparks was not running. Also seemed to be increase fuel fumes.

Does this sound like a dodgy spark plug or something more costly??!!

I just want my car to run properly again!  >:(

Obviously something "Masterfit" has or hasn`t done, check coilpack is seated properly and camsensor wiring hasn`t been trapped, snagged.
Oh, and put your location in your profile, may be someone near to cast an eye over it

Just sounds like its mis-firing....not heard that for 15 years and my old VW Beetle, sure I recognise it!

Guess I'll have to give the car back to the boys tomorrow....another few days walking to the station... :-[

Hope that when you told them to leave the plug alone they did and not contacted you after they had already made a b*llocks of it to try to cover their tracks if you said do it!
Its not an unknown ploy....
In future contact the oofers first cos that is where you will get the best assistance and help.  :y

Nope!!

Join ABS (Autobhanstomers) costs around £20, you get trade prices with membership, will pay itself back just on coil pack alone :y

If I'm looking at the right bit, then TC price is £92+VAT for the 2.2..

Sounds more like it, that's similar to what I paid a couple of years go.
