Title: Faulty Abs ecu ?
Post by: Missy_MV6 on 27 November 2011, 10:19:10
Well for a few weeks now the Omega's traction control and abs light have been staying on intermittently this has also affected the speedo it stays at zero until the lights go off  then starts moving again. Yesterday we travelled for approx 5 hours and the lights stayed on for the majority of the journey..I have read through the forums and it points to a faulty abs ecu.Anyone had experience of this and did you replace it or have yours refurbished?
Thanks Angie x

Definitely ABS ECU. Replace or refurb ? Personal choice I suppose. If you can source a replacement it will probably be a maximum of £45 but theres always the chance it could go wrong as your previous one did.Refurb - iirc around £150 inc.Vat. more money but will have a minimum of a one year gaurantee. :y

Yes I did worry about a replacement suffering the same fate and I do plan to keep the Omega for a long time maybe a refurb would be the way to go.Who would you recommend?

Entwood always recommends BBA reman as they did a good job of repairing his.
