Title: My GLS is now a little lower
Post by: Omega_Dan on 28 November 2011, 12:32:26
Bought some apex lowering springs very cheap last week. Was a simple enough job doing the fronts just tricky to get the rear springs out. Pretty happy with the results. The rear would probably sit down more but i have no fuel in it weighing it down. :)

Ive done a fair bit over the last 14 months of ownership in terms of maintanence and looks.

This time last year:

I've ordered a grille from ebay, seems the next best thing since real irmscher grilles are as rare as rocking horse sh*t :)

At this rate it's going to be a rarity to see an Omega with a standard grill on it!  ::)  Not that I can talk, as mine has an Irmscher grill nailed to it!!  ;D

Had a new battery fitted this morning!

As far as the abs ecu is concerned, the part numbers etc on the existing unit are: 09 127 952. Also DX 0265230427 if that's any help.

Day off today so took some updated pics seeing as car was clean. Done about 1500 miles on the new springs and think they have settled slightly. Tyre wear all even. Have also removed the GLS badges and no one wants to these those ;D

Looking good, like the colour.

What diameter are those tailpipes (are they trims?)
Title: Re: My GLS is now a little lower
Post by: Omega_Dan on 26 January 2012, 14:59:18
no its a powerflow exhaust. I think there 2.5" each. :y
Title: Re: My GLS is now a little lower
Post by: SMD on 26 January 2012, 15:55:23
Is it a custom or off the shelf exhaust? What's the sound like and may I ask how much it cost? I will be going for similar tailpipes but can't decide whether to go for 2.25" or 2.5". I will hopefully be hopefully changing mine in April

Got any better pics of the exhaust?

The Apex give a smoth ride even to the Estate, wich I had them fitted to...but, this is what happend to my left rear spring after only two years :(
Hope your's will last longer. Several people here in Norway who had the same problem on the Omega with Apex, but there's allways warranty  :y
