Been rumours circulating about his return to F1 for a while, but now confirmed as driver for Team Lotus for 2012. Just hope he remembers he's driving an F1 car and not a rally car! ::) Always thought he was an exciting driver but thought he'd lost it a bit before he retired.
-
Don't think he had much luck keeping his rally car on the road ;D
Massa might need to watch out for 2013 if he does not perform well this year, Ferrari might take him back?
-
Rumour was that he was going to Williams, perhaps Rubens will drive again next year.
-
no doubt he is a good driver, but unlucky..
-
6 world champions on the grid now :y.
I don't think he'll set the world on fire nobody seems to on a return to the sport.
I hope Rubens gets another season in F1, but it is down to the teams needing drivers bankrolling their drive rather than talent

.....or wreckless? :-\
-
I always liked him - quickest driver on the track, when he could be bothered and he made it clear that he thought Scumacher was the biggest nob ever, which is always a good thing.
Dont see the point in him coming back though tbh.Hes unlikely to ever get back into a car capable of winning races and championships, so whats the point ? :-\
The only one who springs to mind who came back successfully was Niki Lauda.

Based on this season I think a more pressing risk for Massa will be Hamilton crashing into him.. ;D

Same as Schumacher I imagine - the adrenaline.. there can't be much else that will give them the buzz of driving an F1 car, short of perhaps aerobatic racing (like the Red Bull air races).
-
adrenaline ::) hmm..
I can promise him as much as he needs.. just drive on our roads.. ;D
-
I always liked Kimi, but he doesn't get really involved in trying to develop the car which is what would be needed with the lotus, so don't expect great wins from him.
-
Also adding to this confirmed thread, its also been confirmed Brundle to join Sky's F1 team
-
Also fairly sure we are getting Ted Kravitz to do Pit Lane to. Line up looks to be Brundle & Croft in main seats, with Ted doing Pit lane stuff :)
-
Never rated the guy but hey I also don't rate Weber, Massa and a whole bunch more.
Kimi overplayed his hand on pay negotiations if I remember correctly. Can't ever see him winning a race in his lifetime in a Lotus ;D

Just to point out he's joining what were Renault this year to partner Petrov, not Lotus that is due to be Caterham next year, so they may be reasonably strong. :-\

Still can't justify £20 a month for basic Sky, plus £10 per month for HD just to watch F1 :'( :'(
Will see how the BBC do before looking at the alternatives :y

Sadly no, we do keep pushing for this as its mentioned every time we get staff offers to introduce people with the 50% off deal.
There was a run of "Subscribe to HD & get £100 M&S vouchers" - Think thats ended though.
There is currently one staff offer running, but when the new one comes around in March time, I hope they will offer some half price HD or something to tempt people :-\
