hi all can any body tell me what the idle engine speed should be on my 2000 2.2 omega automatic please......in drive and out of drive at a standstill thanks ray.. :y

about 850rpm from memory, might drop to 750 in D with foot on brake.

ok thank you ...mine is around 650 rpm out of gear and makes the car vibrate..when i increase the revs to around 800 the vibration evens out......can it be altered or could there be another reason for it...i have changed the drivers side engine mounting as it was a bit shabby and the other side looks ok......only it is driving me mad....any ideas please...thanks ray

Engine warm or cold?
Warm engine should be 650-700RPM when in Drive, footbrake applied. Higer for a Cold Engine.
Could you ask someone (pref a trusted friend and not the wife ;D) to put the transmission into gear and put their foot on the brake as you look under the bonnet?
Might give you some indication as to where the vibration is comeing from.

with engine cold and reving higher its ok.....when warm revs dropped back it starts vibrating.....i will try what you advised tomorrow with a good friend at the wheel ( not the other half....such temptation for her ) thanks to all ray....
