Title: Starter ability (max starter current) of battery
Post by: Johnny English on 01 December 2011, 08:34:42
Hi all,

I would like to swap my battery but don't know exactly how many amps starter current required is in case of my 2.5 pre. Some of you have already been so nice to answer me once but I'm afraid of didn't manage to get myself understood properly. Well I'll buy a brand new battery , 70Ah capacity, three version are offered by Opel Database though, namely : 70Ah and 550A max starter current, 70Ah and 680A max starter current, 70Ah and 880A max starter current. There is significant difference between the prices of first and last one, dimensions are the same. So, what sort of battery do you use looking at the starter current ability?

Thx   Laszlo

easy advice buy the best you can afford  :y

the ones you listed are all correct for your car, the higher the starter current the more efficent it will be in extremes of temperature, i.e live in a cold place go for the highest starter current
but as said the best you can afford  :y
