I know, must be mad eh?
Got a 53 Omega Estate CDX, one of the headlights has a broken bracket and it keeps coming up with the FLD/VISION fault on the display.
Is it easy to simply do away with the Xenon headlights and simply fit the standard headlights into this Omega?
**IF** i'm able to get hold of cheap self levelling sensors, how can I diagnose which one is actually at fault? My local scrappy doesn't have them, and this car is going out on Monday so I need to get it done by then.

when that message comes up it is the level sensor on the nearside front by wheel, quite possibly the ball on the arm has popped out, causing the warning to come up, nothing to do with the lights themself

Not necessarily - could be either sensors (back and front nearside), wiring or level motors on the headlamps or any combination of these!! Agree first thing to check is that arm connected to ball joint, next being electrical plug fitted properly.
Needs Tech2 to identify location of faulty item.

Don't do it,
you'll forever regret it ...................
Fix what you already have fitted - you know it makes sense. ;) ;) ;)
As said above Field/Vision could be a number of things, you need a code reader of sorts to find out which, no point in guessing (arm detached from front sensor would be obvious though ;))
'Broken brack' :-\ :-\ :-\ You mean the adjust is goosed & the reflector is flapping about inside the headlight? If so, all adjusters are the way to go, easy enough to fit - there's even a guide (I think ::))

its one of the mounting brackets that hold the headlight to the bodywork.
I'll check out the sensor tomorrow.
I've got a decent Snap-On scanner (Verus) but it doesn't have an option to read that level, and I wouldn't have thought it would as it doesn't output the error through the EML, it only displays the error on the MFD display.

That wouldn't cause the message on the dash.

as said that on its own will not cause the message to come up , firstly check the level sensors front and rear (but bet its front) ;) then go onto your levelling motors themselves and connections :y
but half a mars bar says its front sensor detatched :y

:y try vauxhallspareparts....if he aint got one then you might be well stuck.
All advice already given is right to.
You will regret downgrading so don't think of that one any more. ::)

Took your advice chaps, and it was indeed the front sensor that had come undone ;)
Nice one! :)
