Title: Is 'Gas4car' taking the wee-wee?
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 03 December 2011, 01:34:23
If this is not someone we know, my apologies - but I'm sure it is at least a supplier some of us have dealt with... I even thought 'Gas4Car' was Tielo's outfit???  :-X :-X

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LPG-autogas-conversion-RS232-ecu-lead-Interface-AC-STAG-/260656321696?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cb053d4a0 - £189 for a Stag Interface and some software?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LPG-autogas-conversion-AC-Autogaz-USB-lead-Interface-/250698605027?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a5ecd21e3 - £269, again, for a Stag lead and software???

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LPG-UK-filling-adaptor-europenian-tomasseto-10mm-/260773685564?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cb752a93c - £1,100 - for a FILLING ADAPTOR?  :o

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LPG-Autogas-Adaptor-Bayonet-Fill-Cup-10mm-HEAVY-DUTY-/260647999358?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cafd4d77e - oh - Just a mere £999 for another filling adaptor???

Apologies if I'm wrong, but is this from one of our 'Trusted' gas suppliers?  :'(

I think I did right, with Tinleytech  :y

It does say if you read down the add that 'we are not part of GAS4CAR.com, although we can recommend them for conversions'. :y

Noted.. but the ebay account selling these hideously overpriced items is still labelled 'Gas4Car' - which I'm sure, one way or another, is a seller this forum has had dealings with?

Sounds like, whoever this seller is, they are taking advantage...

And, I'm afraid, you have misread.

It says, we are not part of "gas4carS .com.

This seller is 'Gas4car' - which rings a bell...

Mis quoted, but made my point. :-\

That adaptor had better be made from 18kt gold at that price!  :o

Based on the sellers location I'm fairly sure that is Telio; 'gas4cars.com' which it says it's not affiliated with definitely isn't, as they're based in Milton Keynes..

I have a feeling there is automated price setting software you can use with eBay; perhaps they are and it's gone terribly, terribly wrong - a bit like the time two sellers on Amazon used the same software and it put them in to a bidding war against each other until the price of a book racked up to several million dollars until someone noticed..

Gas4Car is actually not Teilo... It's the name Jeremy was trading under as an intermediary  ;)

TBH, I think it's just either as above (automated balls up) or a miss type :-\ Can't see any other reason for those prices

Something else I thought of - on those long running fixed price sales where the seller has said they have '999999999 available' so that the 'auction' never ends, it's cheaper (read: free) for them to bump the price up to something they know nobody will ever pay than it is to end the auction when they run out of stock and then start another when they get new stock, IIRC..

Then, if anyone is daft enough to buy at the hyper inflated price, you just apologise and refund them.

When you get more stock in, you reset the price back to 'normal'..

My vaporiser has the same "Gas4Car" logo on it, so certainly related.

Only a complete tool would pay any of those prices, however, the seller has plenty of feedback so guessing what Aaron said. Just avoiding cancelling the item.  ;D

ah! All makes sense!

That makes more sense, because I'm sure he's stopped using Jeremy as an intermediary now and doing all the listings "in house"

I would guess that A is right and they're just out of stock at the moment

And I've used both ::)
