Title: saxo 1.6 Auto Gearbox question?

Just bought a little R plate saxo 1.6 Auto. going to change the gearbox oil tomorrow but will i need to refill with ATF fluid or gearbox fluid. Sounds daft but i know nothing about the autos on these.

French gearboxes, manual or auto, are made of cheese. So use Milk for ATF ;D

Need to look up required spec - most factors should have such info. Or ask Opie.

Just topped up the ATF in the end.

Did it solve the problem? What grade of fluid did you need?

You got off lightly, the small French car I purchased to sell on needed a new clutch to fix it, seventy squid's worth of Valeos finest...

... it's been advertised for around three weeks but no interest at all, as of yet.

Gearbox is fine. used dexron 2 ATF. only took about a half litre. just doing a general check as well as changing the oil and filter. Looks a tidy car. surprised it hasn't sold ???
