What can I say, I am disgusted and agree with one persons comment of the case being referred back as unduly lenient.

Bear in mind we will now suffer the "daily mail" non believers, must be exaggerated etc.

No doubt all to conversant with their yumin rites.Deportation would be an appropriate sentence imo. ;)
I will never understand drunkeness being accepted in mitigation for criminal acts. Its similar to asking for leniency for speeding because your speedo was broken. ::)

Schocking if the article is right. I'm sure everybody have the right of normal life in their own home, the rules of immigration should get to be stricted untill immigrants assimilated fully.

I'm not really surprised of that, plenty of countries suffer from immigrants, France, Germany, Finland and so on...It was just a question of time you will be the next...We don't have lots of immigrants yet being Hungary not a so well prospering country as the others in the West...but we and Slovakia have our own troubles with our own minority (gipsies).  :-\ :-\ :-\

If what the paper says is true, then what does it matter if they were used to drinking or not? what diffence does it make what colour, religion or nationality you are??

If they have been found Guilty of the Crime they then should recieve their Punishment....

After reading the artical, it mentions that "Ambaro and Hibo Maxamed, both 24, their sister Ayan, 28, and cousin Ifrah Nur, 28, attacked Rhea, a care worker, as she walked to a taxi rank with her boyfriend after a night out"

Would you not think that the Boyfriend would have stuck up for his Girlfriend and perhaps smashed a chin or two irrelevent if they are girls or not????

Nope she should be given a punishment in line with her crime, but I bet you any money it will be more harsh than the sentence that these young girls got.  And all it will do is make things worse in the minds of those who are polarised on both sides.

I think the original incident is a case of a judge having a moment where he lacked the moral courage to do the right thing.

From my own experience people that will stand shouting at you are not the ones that will batter you.....

Unfortunately I'm sceptic a bit in connection with news. There was an incident at 1989 , happened in Transsylvania (Romania) , between the hungarian minority an the romanian majority. The romans attacked hungarians who just demonstrated silently and peacefully for free native language using. The news was headline in all of newspapers in Romania but as "Hungarians attacked romans"...
I'm sorry I had to tell you to understand well my point of view. BUT at time there was communism...

the main problem is that the majority of immigrants we have in this country now are calling asylum and cannot be touched. Food for thought is the main reason they claim asylum is because they fear for their lives if they return to there own country. Makes you wonder what they did in there own country that warranted a death sentence.

Saw this coming 4 years ago, that's one of the reasons I left for sunnier climes. Of course Spain has it's own problems with immigrants but they do deal fairly with them over here. That kind of infraction would have definately earned those girls a stay in prison then deportation.
They are getting hot over here with the deportation thing, all the immigrants that came over to work in the plastic greenhouses are being checked for legality and if not 100% sent back to wherever they came from 'toute suite'. Then the jobs can go back to the spanish that didn't want to work there in the first place!
Anyhoo back to OP, SWMBO was reading about it last night, that was the first time I had heard about it even thoughthe original incident took place, what, 17 months ago. I was shocked, I mean really shocked, WTF was the judge thinking of.
If their religion meant they were not used to alcohol, then why were they out drinking in the first place?
There was some confusing information about the boyfriend trying to defend the girl but they just kept on attacking her, even when the police turned up? Is that right?
Any problems in the town after the verdict?

this is part of the reason this country has had it   these judges need a reality check  although the pc brigade probably think his punishment fits the crime >:( >:(
