Title: Humax Freesat Movies Beta Trial
Post by: pscocoa on 10 December 2011, 17:33:16
For those who have gone the Freesat route I got an email from Humax offering a Beta service for movies at £4.99 a month - monthly contract only so I signed up. Seems ok working off broadband - known as Box Office 365 on channel 907. Could be handy over Christmas.

I think it's pretty good, if not as user friendly as the Humax freeview 9200 box which I also use as a backup recording system. Get the biggest hard-drive you can, as HD is memory hungry. :y

Is they much difference (channel wise) from a digibox ?

The Humax Boxes are clunky (best descriptor I can think of) compared to Sky digibox but ok when you get used to it. The saving is obviously significant and the HD and storage performance is good. I have a 500gb storage version. You can load up with local files via usb and they are getting better now with access via broadband - BBC Player, ITV Player etc and of course you have HD (but not movies). I would say for £60 or so a month saving it is a great solution.
