Title: Vauxhall Astra
Post by: jack68 on 12 December 2011, 10:52:04
Can anyone help with a question for a friend.  She has lost her spare key and is wondering if she can just have one cut or will it need to be coded.  She has one key which locks and unlocks on the blipper and then she has one that is just a blade.  The question i have is, will the blade one start the car (she thinks it will) or will she need to get a coded one?

It will need to be coded to the vehicle for the immobiliser as a minimum.....and this requires the security code which is part of the car pass.

Cheers i knew i could get the answer here.  I'm assuming it's the log book and a visit to the dealers?

You'll need the logbook, probably some form of ID, and the car pass.
