Title: newbie here looking for an Omega Estate
Post by: Guinney1971 on 14 December 2011, 12:37:05
Hi all,

just to say "HI", I'm Claire, and am on the look out for an Omega Estate with the 2.5 TD engine and automatic gearbox.

Not too fussed on colour, but would like to avoid Satin Red as we've already got 2 Cavaliers in that colour.

I've been around Vauxhall's for years, currently other half and I have 3 Cavaliers and one Astra TD Cabrio, including the last ever Cavalier built at Luton in 1995 that we rescued from a dealer who supplies scrap cars to the military for target practice!   :o

Other cars we own (we have 9 at the mo) include 2 DeLorean's a Toyota Sera, a Renault-Matra Avantime V6 and a Talbot Samba Convertible (restoration project).  My Astra Convertible will be sold to make way for the Omega.

Ideally we'd like an Omega before our trip to France in June 2012, hence why I'm joining you all now as I know how rare these are in 2.5TD Auto guise.

I'm trawling the usual suspects like Ebay, Autotrader, Motors, Exchange and Mart etc, but if any of you know of a car for sale, then please let me know   :)

Cheers,

Claire

cheers for the welcome   :)

Is it me, or are Omega 2.5TD Auto Estates rarer then the proverbial chicken's gnashers?   :'(

Hello & welcome Claire  :)
This is just the 'Meet & Greet' section, you will get many more replies to your query if you post in the General Discussion section & ask a Moderator nicely if they will move your question into the  'Cars for sale & Wanted' area?  ;)

ah, thanks for the heads up  :)   I did notice I'm not allowed to post in the 'forsale/wanted' section - do I have to have x number of posts first?

I'm loving the freindliness of this club already - I'm a member of several Vx clubs, including VODC, Astra Mk3OC and the Cavalier & Chevette Club, so you've probably seen me and various members of my fleet at Billing over the years.  I've attached a piccy of me in my Astra at Billing this year  :)

Cant wait to get a Meega now I know I'm in such a lovely friendly group   :-*

lol, there is nowt like a silky smooth V6 - our Avantime has a V6 with LPG - but its still that
nasty thing that you have to *pay* for fuel..... there's a reason why one of our Cav's and my
Astra are TD's.....   ;)

Anyone for chips?   :y

hi Claire,  and welcome, LOVE the number plate on the De on wedding duty.....   :D

there's very little on wheels on this planet i'd rather have over a decent Mig estate....   although i must admit,  i have been pondering the idea of my next one being a diseasel ....   i keep reading moans about the 2.5,  but not so much about the later 2.2 ,  so been pondering an even rarer (as far as i can tell) 2.2 dti (elite if it exists)  estate....

i suffer a little from lead foot-itis...    so my non-lpg'ed 3.2 sure as all hell lets me know when i've been naughty,  by punching me in the wallet....

 :-[  it hurts......

but i think i might be a not very closet masochist....  coz i love those v6's  SO much....

lol Max, I know what you mean about getting punched where it hurts when it comes to 'pressing on', hence why I dont drive the De so much these days - although since I serviced and tuned the engine earlier this year it now does about 23mpg rather then 17mpg   ;D
