Title: Can I use heat gun to remould my bumper grill (black plastic)
Post by: Webby the Bear on 16 December 2011, 10:18:22
Hi All, hope you're well.

I note that the black grill on the front bumper can't be removed and replaced due to it being welded at the bottom directly to the bumper.

So, as mine is all bent am i safe to use my heat gun to heat the plastic and bend back in to shape? I thought I'd check as I don't want to obviously cook any engine parts.

What do you think?

Kind regards,

Bear.

Pretty certain it can be removed. A heat gun could be used to try to straighten it but may be better to remove the bumper first. At the very least have a close look whats behind the area before using the heat gun. ;)

Yep - just a little electrical connector to unplug at each side. :y...........you got headlamp washers ?
Might be easier to unplug the foglights first if you can reach the connectors ok.
