Title: Central locking temperature sensitive or broken??
Post by: maracus on 16 December 2011, 13:15:29
Do the deadlocks have some sort of freeze prevention mechanism in the form of 'they dont operate below a certain temperature'?

Last night and the night before, when it was around freezing outside, the deadlocks won't operate, on te fob OR the key. But yesterday and today, they work fine.

Was thinging at the time a problem had occurred from changing the passenger door lock actuator, as previously, my passenger door central locking was ineffective, but now the deadlocks work again!! So hence I thunk it's temperature sensitive?

R plate mv6...

Thoughts please...

there is no 'freeze prevention' basically i would imagine you have had water or condensation around the mechanism which has temp froze it  ;)
or could be that the acuator on drivers side is on its last legs  ;)
