Hi all,
How much is a 2nd hand lpg multi sequential kit worth roughly?
Found one on a car that is being stripped, asked him what he wanted and said make an offer :-\

given the cost of all the bits you will need to get new, I'd buy the tried and tested kit brand new

TB - can you give me some idea of what I'd need to get new then please? Also, how much would I be looking at for a new kit then?
As I'm brassed, I'd be looking at getting either old or new, bit by bit :-[

2nd hand, depending on system, you may not be able to set up, tank may be out of date, its all unknowns...

V6 kit for a saloon (proven to work!) with a cylinder tank should be sub £700 all in :y
If second hand I'd be reluctant to part with more than £100 (because of the unknowns) and budget to spend at least £500 on new stuff and setup, more if it needs a new tank due to the 10 year life of them ;)

Yes, my 2nd hand kit looks like the ECU is stuffed.Trouble is you can't test it fully first.

Hi Dave,
You've seen and test driven my conversion. This is how much it cost me:
* Second hand Stag 300 ECU, Loom, with Valtek 3ohm injectors which had only covered 1000 miles: £75
* 4 hole 90l Tank, polyflex pipe, all fittings etc, £200 from TinleyTech.
* New KME Gold dual output Vaporisor: £100
* New Filling point £30
* Hoses / pipes / attachments etc - less than £70
So all in - mine cost around £470 to convert, and has been faultless over the last 5,000 miles, pretty much paying for itself already.
That said - if you're keeping the car - £700 is very reasonable to just have everything you'll need dumped on the doormat... :)

I'm looking at going down the route you took tbh, as there is no way I can find £700 in a hit. I'm just going to be able to get it bit by bit :-[
And yes your car is bloody quick on lpg, I couldn't tell the difference :o :y

Properly set up, there should be no differences, although we have, in the past, had issues with some combinations. For example, my MV6 occasionally lags under low fuel conditions on 6750rpm gearchanges. Believed to be vapouriser/injector combo (those valtek injectors are a bit crap).
The current kit, a bit more of a sod to properly calibrate, is bang on for a cheap kit. Mine came in significantly under £600, but with no Stag lead (as I already had one from the previous conversion).

Fortunately mine had already paid for itself when I parked it up 6 weeks ago... SWMBO has done more miles in it than me since then :o Think I may have managed about 80 miles in the last 6 weeks :o :'(
