Can any key fob and transponder be linked to any car, with the right documentation of course?

-
As long as right programming equipment, and the stuff is electrically compatible. Most (not all) seperate GM transponders are the same, but the fobs do vary quite a lot.

Cheers TB. A new remote is around £35 plus vat from stealers, and then obviously setting up fees (half an hour at about £30?). I only have one key and in the pursuit of another after Christmas, was just wondering if a second hand one could be considered?
I would hope to use OOF tech 2 of course  :y

We have no Tech2's in Northern Ireland...

2nd hand is fine, get a blabk horseshoe blade with transponder from egay (tenner), a 2nd hand fob (Vauxhall Omega 2 button ones for Alarmed cars are always megamos), then program (carpass needed). Our dealers seem to want £80 to program :o

Thanks for that, I was hoping that's what you'd say!
I'm hoping to come across in the new year for a little bit of work and am hoping to make arrangements for tech 2 while I'm over, as am also considering gearbox and climate updates at the same time.
