Those of you paying attention to my posts may well note that the "list of things I want to do" is in inverse proportion to "bank balance" and "spare time"... but never mind.
There are a few dead pixels on my TID, and I'd quite like to fix it. I understand it is repairable, but given that I haven't soldered anything for 10 years, it might not be my best option. It's an ex-plod 3.2, how much work is necessary to fit a MID and have it working? Head unit is a CDR2005, which I think means I can't fit a GID?
I'm looking at replacing the headunit next year anyway, but the check control would be nice if I could have it in and working without too much hassle? Or is it easier to repair or replace the TID?
