I'm not sure of using this word well, it's a kind of spray that helps you starting your car at extreme cold weather. Pipe of spray is connected into the air intake system and - in case of hard start - before you start you push one or two strokes into the engine and it starts smoothly. Well, some winter ago I heard a legend that spray using risky becouse cylinder head could be exploded down by that. From my own part it sounds unbelievable if we talked about a product, which you could buy anywhere in the normal trade but two heads are better than one.
Any advence welcomed !

easy start or eather based products generally become adictive to a engine, i used to do aa work and we had memos not to use under any circumstances

I know that some do not recommend the use of it, but as you say it is available every where.

Never used it. Never needed to. I guess if it wont start something needs fixing. No spray will fix that.

just not worth it in long run, once becomes addictid to the stuff its needed every start, if its diesel just fire some new and decent glow plugs in it, cheaper in long run

The manufacturer doesn't supply a can of this stuff with the car when it's new - so don't use it. :-X
It's ether-based, and therefore volatile, so causes extremely rapid cylinder/combustion wear, as the engine is rapidly (rather than naturally), sprung into life.
Your engine should start reasonably well "as is" so it's best to investigate/remedy the problem. ;)

This has puzzled me for years.... I know people use Easy Start, I also believe the engines get addicted/rely on it, but never understood how an engine can get addicted lmao...

It's so volatile that it causes RAPID wear as I've outlined above Great One! ;)
If extreme cold-starting is difficult, then a flare held close to the intake is a safe bet ;)

It's not getting addicted to it, it's just getting knackered. Less and less compression means more easy start required.

Easy-Start pushers hanging about in garage doorways doing 'deals'.......cars having 'bad trips'......needing a 'fix'......and being steered in a downward-spiral, with addicted cars ending up sleeping rough on the streets! :D

This spray should be banned nasty stuff.
engine compressions are at fault.

why buy easy start? every time i get a non running diesel in, i simply remove the airbox squirt wd40 or duck oil/maintenance spray etc etc straight into the air intake hose, if it starts on it then i know it has a fuel problem, it also helps in cold weather starts and does NOT get the engine addicted to it!

I actually used this trick 3 weeks ago on a jcb from the 80,s that had sat in a field for about twenty years after a house build was finished, they had been trying for days to get it going on diesel, but it just wouldnt go, wd40 down the intake and a gallon can of clean fuel with ahose stragiht into the injector pump, she rumbled into life amid great clouds of smoke!!

agreed.. there must be a problem.. if it was diesel I can understand but unleaded must start.. mine is 97 and I remember even at -15 celcius it starts without any isues (although last 2 years was not that cold) .. try a compression check imo..

edit : he has a 2.5V6 Vectra with smaller cold-start problem but whereas I don't have experience thought asking you. Unfortunately there is a really arrogant and selfish head among hun Omi owners who absolute bored with teaching again and again and when helps you does like this : "USE GOOGLE AAAaaaaa ! " Luck that he is only one with this attitude but enough to reach beginners to not ask...

i use a butane torch rather than easy start,much less volatile.
