Assuming the code read is correct ......

As a complete guess, it is "possible" that IF .. big IF.. the aircon pump has failed/siezed AND the cutout relay has failed/become disconnected (which would give the error code) then .. IF the clutch has engaged to the failed/siezed pump the engine is now trying to drive the failed/siezed pump which would be a large mechanical load .... this MIGHT be felt as a rough running/misfire ???

Loads of IF's and MIGHT's in there......  which I don't like .... but possible worth a look at the aircon pump/clutch whilst the engine is running ???

If the pump HAS failed ..?.... then a short drive belt is a quick way of getting around the problem

I think the code may be nothing to do with your misfire problem.Check the plug wells for oil. ;)

As Albs says, 87 is nowt to do with a misfire, check fuse #27

Ac related.

Re miss fire check for oil in plug wells. Caused by failed cam cover gaskets/blocked breathers. Use genuine only.

Clean icv then light oil won't hurt either.

Plenum is the large silver bit on top of engine with Eco tech written on it.

I doubt icv is related go your issue. Just a preventative measure, they can stall if icv gets gunked up. So there's an outside chance it could cause rough running I suppose, but most likely cause is oil in plug wells.

I`ll say one thing... You guys know your motors !!
Just been out and took a couple of the plug leads and ... sure enough oil in the pots... well on the drivers side anyway.
So, can i pick your brains some more?
What do i do now ? I take it i have to get the oil out of the pots without letting it run into chamber when taking plugs out but, apart from that my common sense/knowledge is empty.
Your help would be appreciated... is it a big job or something a very limited knowledge diyer could do?
Cheers

..... correct. Also have a look at the guides section, breather cleaning and csm cover gaskets are covered.

MUST use genuine vx cam cover gaskets and I rings and make sure the breathers are clear to avoid internal crank case pressure blowing the seals again.

Also you may encounter miss fires from the affected cylinders once the oil dries out. In which case replace ht leads. May as well do plugs while your there.

Gulp !!!
Just read the maintenance guide for replacing gasket and detailed as usual... and scares me to death!

Never took any part of engine apart before .
