hi guys, just joined the site. have purchased a 2003 vx omega elite diesel, been having a few electrical issues with it recently.
first of all the interior light that is operated when the doors open will not go off unless you switch on the sidelights and or the headlamps, i have had to pull out the two bulbs to keep it off.
also checking other components in the car i have noticed the electric sunroof is also dead now for some reason.
further to this problem the reverse parking sensors had started sticking on with one continous beep instead of the gradually faster beep beeps as you come close to another car etc.
with the interior light bulbs removed the reverse park sensors seem to be fully operational again.
could someone please shed some light on these problems as they have left me a bit baffled.
just checked the car again and the battery is flat once more ::) ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? :o

Welcome to the forum.
You know that the interior lights can be switched on by pulling out the main light switch ...... :-\ It's not something as simple as the switch is pulled out? :-\

hi thanks for the reply and no the light switch button is pushed in in its correct position.
just been checking the battery etc and with the engine switched off with the meter connected there seems to be a drain on the battery
the alternator is charging correctly at between 13.98 and 14.02 volts and with some electrical components switched on we are getting a reading with the engine running at between 13.39 and 13.50.
i will change the battery over tomorrow with a new unit but im convinced there is a relay at fault somewhere.

I think we're in Kevin Wood's department here.
As you've a facelift car, there is a relay that stays latched for a time after the ignition is turned off that feeds the rear ciggy lighter. It'll be a case of pulling fuses one at a time till you find the guilty circuit. ;) ;)

Evening dont know if this helps but a couple of years ago i had a battery drain, after 3 days of looking it turned out to be vanity mirror on passager side visor.

ok paul thanks ill have a check although im sure these are functioning correctly ;)

checked these relays under the steering wheel today, the small green one is present but there are no larger yellow 8 or 9 pin timer relay, couldnt even see a red one either.
there is a large black relay but when removed it has only 3 terminals.

Had the same on one of our 2.2dti elite estate's it turned out to be the light switch i just put another one in (you can get them on here for a few £'s) and that stopped the lights staying on. All started when we had a new windscreen fitted (autoglass), must have had a small leak on drivers side (don't think the screens they use are very good fit >:()
