my car is the 2.2 auto salloon 2003 model since this light has come on my fuel consumption is is so poor its costing a fortune i have had the code reader on it and all it says is is a sensor fault can any one help
-
"sensor fault" thats not exactly going to narrow it down ::)
What was the exact code? Any symptoms, other than poor fuel consumption?
First thoughts are Lambda or Cam sensor which is a one of the few sensors to fail on the 2.2.
Of course all the above is assuming its a 2.2 petrol, not 2.2 diesel?
-
What sensor does it say is at fault?
If it does not say have a look at the Maintence Section for a Thread called Paper Clip Test or Pedal Trick.
Have a read through it, if you are lucky you maybe able to do it, then post what codes you have we can perhaps help you from there.
Alternatively get someone with a better code reader to see what codes are stored.

auto= 2.2 petrol?
-
cheap readers dont tell you what sensor is at fault :)
-
Any other symptoms, not starting first time?
-
hi guys sorry its the petrol model and its a sensor on the auto box he never give me the code sorry it starts first time it just seems as the gear changes are slow and going into fourth seems to tke longer then it seems to lose all performance and it changes down when you dont want it to
-
That means it's going into 'Limp mode'.
You need to get the codes read by proper reader.
Symptoms appear to point towards the cam sensor.
