Title: Breathing new life into a TD
Post by: Seth on 02 January 2012, 00:04:47
Spring 2010:

Our previous TD Estate had been purchased by my colleague Markseth as per: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=45945.0

At this time, his TD saloon was in need of a fair amount of expenditure. Due to a change in circumstances, he really needed an Estate - so the logical solution was to transfer the 'good' running gear from his saloon into our superfluous vehicle.

Here's a few pictures of the proceedings:

The redundant saloon is moved out of the 'stripping bay' with a little persuasion!

Just the rear wheels to remove whilst we await the arrival of the recycling people.

Within the hour 'a man with a lorry' arrives.

It's a fond farewell as it begins it's final journey!

Remove the rear bucket from the JCB, and you get an excellent engine hoist.
Here's the elusive Markseth - he should stick with driving trains for a living!

Time to let the professional take over!
The complete lump's about to be transplanted into the already-prepared Estate in the background.

Here's the finished product - 'Plus 5' chip and brand-new MoT thrown-in for good measure.
It now resides in the Rhondda Valley with a contented owner!

Good to see the pics Byron. I remember to telling me the story at the south wales meet ;)

It's my friend's (of over 40 years) farm Dan, and was one location that I considered for the first South Wales meet.
Within five minutes drive of the M4 north of Bridgend, there's a huge workshop (with ramp etc) on site.
Possibilities .............  8)

Stand with your back to the shed and you face south, overlooking the unspoilt countryside north of Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan!

Sounds good to me, Mrs Seth's barbies are legendary by all accounts, and she'll be able to say 'Aberystwyth' without an eyelid blinked anywhere  ;D

Watching with interest Seth, is a meet in the planning stage?
How about camping overnight?
