When turning Heater on Water temp Gauge Drops to Zero.

Possibly needs a new thermostat ?

Does the heater blow warm when it's on? It does sound like the thermostat is stuck open though. Where are you?

                     Heater blows warm air, Temp gauge, Takes a long time to register,about 6 miles
                     but I still get warm air during this period.
