Hi all,
As per the above I drove to my mate's last night and when I parked up the ''Brake Light'' message came up on the trip computer.
Then I tested it and it went away and was fine all night.
Is this an indication that it's just starting to be on it's way out? If so should I replace D and P/S bulbs? And how do I do this? I've looked for a guide but can't find one. Sorry if I've missed and sorry if it's a simple job but I've never done it.
Thanks.

Bulbs are dead easy to replace - pop the boot open, pull the cover off each side, unclip the bulb holder from the light unit. Push and twist to remove the old one, pop the new one in, clip it all back together.
You need stop/tail lamps, go to VX or somewhere to get decent branded ones.

ok mate thanks. so the fact that theyre both still working now but had the warning yesterday means theyre on their way out and i should replace both sides?
i have halfords bulbs that are the right size. will they be ok?

omg how easy was that!!! thanks mate

You may find it happens again soon, I give the terminals a rub with glass paper as they get a little corroded as well as levering them up a touch to make sure they are tight. Easy though!

You may be lucky - I wasn't. The message kept coming back intermittently on mine when using Halfords bulbs. Problem solved by using genuine Vx from the stealer's - cost me 67p or thereabouts if I remember correctly. :y

Yes, sometimes can be a lottery with bulbs :-\

Halfords bulbs and Vx Omegas seem to be bad news - lots of OOFers have had problems with Halfords bulbs. As said use genuine Vx ones, or I have found Ring bulbs are OK. ;)
