Title: Now, don't shoot me but.....
Post by: Paulus on 19 March 2008, 20:31:17
...I'm thinking of buying a Citroen C5 Estate. Nice and big, the 2.2 diesel is a corker, lots of toys, very refined and a bargain price.

Am I naughty? :o

Our other car is a 2003 Picasso and despite everyone saying to us don't buy a Citroen it has only ever had routine servicing and tyres, most reliable car we have ever bought. Owned it for 18 trouble free months. :) :)

I wouldn't pass the medical. I've had heart problems and I've got a back condition. So basically, I'm a wreck.

Does anyone want to LPG my Meega for £2.98 (that's all I've got left from selling the kids).

I got the C4 Grande picasso 7 str 7 months ago, lovely comfy and excellent on fuel, diesel. Paddle gears or auto, button for handbrake etc. No problems. was warned off by lot of people but would have another. Loads of room and quick for a 1.6 diesel. had a PT cruiser prior to this 23mpg best on petrol, now average in mid 40's around town, over 50 on a run. :D :D :D
Are you getting it on mobility, no costs so no worries.
PS still have a miggy. :y :y :y

Maybe not that low but......... In an earlier thread, http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1205663030/30 I mentined how someone was breaking a 6 pot with LPG, so you might get the all bits for a reasonable price. It looks a good, known system, so should be reliable. I live nearby, so can lend a pair of hands if need be.

Auction was : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BREAKING-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-2-5-V6-WITH-LPG-CONVERSION_W0QQitemZ260220484009QQihZ016QQcategoryZ10404QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Personally I like the C5. I drove the 2.2 biturbo (170bhp) version the other week and it was lovely.

Damn quick, very smooth and gave 45mpg.
Had quite a few Peugoets and Citroens, and in my experience they have been excellent and very reliable.

So, in my opinion, an excellent choice
