Title: Chasewater Meeting - January - Midlands area
Post by: SJKOO01 on 06 January 2012, 19:04:26
Okay, as a thread hasn't been posted yet regarding a meeting in January, I thought I'd post one up!

Anyone else interested in meeting at the usual place?  I know it's still cold-ish out there for some, but there is a cafe where you can warm up your little cotton-socks again if you're not a fan of standing in the cold car park area (for now anyhow)  ::) ;)

Previous & Newcomers welcome, the more the better  :y

Keep it on Topic lads as we may end up getting our rear ends slapped by admin's  ::) ;D .

Yes hoping to make it, the 15th maybe pushing it for me now as got an invite over to a mates birthday bash, but if I'm not late getting up next day I may just get there for about 1-ish.
However, the 29th is better for me, although depends on what others think is an ideal date as not many others posting so could end up being a small meet this time?  ???

This may also be the last time that I can make it over in the ex police Mig for a while.
(I have a plan in mind though  ::))

Come on you lot, you've been asking about a meeting that you can get to in the Midlands where are you all  :D  ;D  :y

I'm going to take an executive decision here (with great power comes great responsibility  ::) ;D) and post that the meeting takes place on the 29th Jan.  As think the 15th maybe too short notice for some, the 22nd is same day as another meeting and so 29th seems the one point to  :y

Unless of course people object to the 29th  ??? . In which case if all dates for month of Jan look difficult for a fair few of us to get there, do we leave it till February to kick off the meetings again instead?  ???

It goes like a bloody rocket :)

Although only 200 cubes more than my last mig, it seems to be so much more powerful. I had a 3.0 mv6 years ago and even that was not a patch on this one!

Will give her a clean before I bring her up, so she looks a bit better, lol.   Got a few niggles I'd like to sort, but nothing major.  Your views & comments I'd appreciate :y

Seems sensible time I think, not too early or late for most.  Unless anyone has any other thoughts.

Did have a thought about when the warmer weather starts to be more common place, to take some garden games that we could play to be a little more interactive as well as just standing chatting (as well as the tinkering with cars in between mind  ::) .  Your thoughts all ??

The car on the end of the line up is obviously not an Omega, but was just a stand-in vehicle for Phill. So be gentle on him ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

On a separate note, Dan, I think that Porsche didn't like the fact we were tailing him ;D ;D   The only way to get away from us was to go head to head with on coming traffic whilst overtaking......prat ::)

Thanks again all for a great afternoon and hope to see you all next month.....

Great day everyone. Good to see Daves new car. Plenty of laughs too. :-X

Weather held off but yeah its was very chilly.

Dave: yeah he was driving like a tool. All good and well driving fast but not like that! Was a good drive between us once that Porsche had buggered off.

Any ideas folks on the next meet date for feb?, as im thinking of taking over the midlands meet rep for Autobahnstormers & i may be looking at a date in feb for a gathering probably at the old venue....plank & leggit, sawley. I dont want to have a clash of meets.

Well there's either the 19th or 26th Feb :-\

Not that it makes any difference overall, but the 19th is out for me as I'm away for a week on exercise (playing soldiers again ::)).  I finish on the 25th, so even the 26th is a maybe, depends if SWMBO will let me out to play after my week away ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Was great to meet up with folk again  :y

Was nice to be able to have a warm mug of Tea / Coffee and having a laugh or two.
And lets not mention horns or certain adopted nick-name for us to call Dan now  ::)  ;D.

From the photos looks like the weather got slightly better once I left (again  ???).

Roll on next months meeting  ;) :y
