Doesn.t with both doors. Can,t be the switch because the puddle lights work.

My recollection is that the puddle lights switch off as soon as the doors shut but there is a time delay on the centre courtesy light that dims the lamp before it switches off.

Don't know if there is a separate fuse for the time delay  :-\ I don't have the wiring diagram in front of me to check.

My plan would be to track down the time delay module (sorry, I don't know where it is) and go from there.

I assume that you have standard bulbs fitted (not LEDs).............

PS the map reading lights only work when the engine is running.

I think im in the same boat as greenman, my interior lights were working (as always never happy with what I had) changed with Led's. They worked but noticed when locking the car they didnt completely go off. So changed back to the same normal bulbs but both map reading/interior lights don't work?? All fuses seem fine ???.

Sorry to hijack the thread  :y

As above plus is there a "how to" remove the interior light(facelift).Had a look but can,t find one. Also if there is a relay anyone know where?

If memory serves .. the interior lights, as against the map lights, go through a "time delay relay" ... they stay on for a while, then dim and extinguish, unless you lock the car when they go out instantly ....  where that relay is I don't know .. :(

I've recently changed mine to LEDs, and found that happened too. Fortunately, I had 2 different types of LED, and swapping them around made everything work properly.
They are a big improvement over the originals; they illuminate right down into the footwells which is something the originals never did.

Where did you get the LED ,s from the NickW ?

The quality of the interior light has been a constant issue for me since day 1 :'( as I often do paperwork etc in car and have ended up buying a clip on LED for the dash but would much prefer just the light to be better. :y

It's a reminder to take the key out before the noise drives you madso you don't forget/lose them :y

Only happens when drivers door is open ::) close the door and it'll stop. :y

Been told the door switches are a common fault.Don,t think it,s them at fault as the puddle lights are fine.I,m thinking the time delay relay.Anyone know where it is?

Getting weirder.Still got fast low beep when the is put in.Ignition on,stops. No interior lights when the door is opened.Already changed door switches.Last night noticed dash lights stayed on (no external lights on).Eventually went out.Thinking got to be a relay but have,nt a clue which is which.Any help apprieciated.

Hi all,

Maybe I'm being retarded but if your interior lights next to the rear-view mirror don't come on when you open the door but do come on using the switch..... isn't that simply because they are using different bulbs. IIRC there's 4 in total: two on drivers side for switch and when door opens and the same passenger side?

So to sum up wouldn't bulb changes have fixed?

Cheers  :y
