Myself personally I don't drink much at all. I can go for 2 to 3 months with nothing, but when I do have a drink it will be 2 to pints of cider in pub/restaurant and then some southern comfort when I get home. Yes I am a bit worse for it but as it happens so rarely I hope it does me little harm.  :y

Until xmas about 10-15 pints a week. 6yrs ago roughly 80-100. Maybe more.
I did work with a painter who drank a full 24 pack of john smith everyday. proper breaked up. lost his licence a few times as well

Should that advice help prevent the following example of sophisticated behaviour, I'm all for it.

A warning for the more sensitive elements of the membership - the following clip contains the uninhibited display of the fat female body.

When I was a lot younger a bloke I knew of similar age to me used to frequent the Cayley Arms at Brompton and drink every night 12 or 13 pints of Camerons Ale (depending on how thirsty he was) and then he would ride his Honda 250 THREE  miles home. ;D ;D

I often wonder if he is alive today.

I also found out just today that a former work colleague with a lifelong drink problem commited suicide last week. No age .........56. I never remember him eating anything except a curry after a night on the razz.

Over the years, we`ve suffered successive British Government`s contradictory advice on the safety (or otherwise) of:

Smoking
Eggs
Liver
Alcohol
Aspirin
Soft Drugs
Red Meat
Hydrogenated Fat
Saturated Fat
Fibre
Vitamin supplements
Salt
Herbs (yes, really!)
Milk
......I could surely go on! ::)

The real story is: "Nobody get out of here alive, life is fatal; for EVERYONE!"

"Eat, drink and be merry; for tomorrow......." and all that! ;)

Bibendum :y

An old workmate of mine (a really great character) used to nip out at lunchtime for a gallon of beer and drink at least two and a half gallons every night. He never talked in terms of pints, only gallons. He even had a 40ft container in his back garden which had a fully functioning bar, for when the pubs were closed. There were reliable witnesses who said they had seen him drink 50 pints in one day.
He died at the age of 66,but he died a happy man.His whole life centred around drinking beer and making money - which he a natural knack of doing.
Many hundreds of people were at his funeral. His wife was distraught, but the landlord of his local (The Dolphin on the A120 near Braintree) looked even more distraught than his poor widow.
