Well the dodgy Astra has now gone and he has a nice shiny 58 Reg Ford Focus.............. :y :y I do hope this one is OK, ex mobility car with only 33K miles and fsh.......not that that guarantees anything these days..... ::) ::)

Nice one Mike! :y I hope that lad realises how lucky he is to have you! ;D ;)

Nice one Vamp's.. Make sure he keeps your investment serviced which is probably most important.
Whatever you do when it is due for the cambelt to be changed get someone who knows what they are doing, as the the Crank Pulley if not fitted properly can create nightmares...

Which engine, petrol or derv?

For petrol 80,000 rings a bell, but my advise Mike would be to phone Fords Service Department to make sure.

Thanks Daz, I need to do some research..... :y

I'll check tomorrow :y (I think its circa 100k miles)
-
Checked today,100k miles or 8 years whichever sooner, personally I would change it at 70-80 thousand but not heard reports of them failing early
-
Oh right, I though it was the Diesels that were around 100-125,000 miles.
Always best to double check :y

The 1.6 diesel is 125k or 10 years but I did one a while back that had done 90k and thought that the belt looked quite tired.

Thanks for that, nothing to worry about for a long time then...... :y Just make sure he keeps it serviced etc, I think he will as he is doing a lot of 'drooling' at the moment and even had the audacity to park it on the drive, to sort out his stuff..... :D :D :D
