Thanks mate, yer i will say tho, the pipe work was not an easy job, as the fuel tank sits quite close to the bumper, and i still had to keep the bend mandrel on the sencond set of twins so it was a bit of a shit to do but got there in the end, i will try and get some pics of the full system when its on a ramp so i can show off the stainless manifolds aswell lol  ;D  : :y
Title: Re: my 2000 MV6 project
Post by: MV6 MAN on 10 March 2012, 20:20:55
SPEC of full system.

full stainless system through out
de-cats lol  ;)
one sports centre box
running 2 and a half inch pipe from the down pipes back

the car now sounds amazing, properly has the V sound that i wanted, if anything more like a V8 lol, and i would say has now increased the power nicly aswell, not sure how much yet, but will find out soon as it will be on the rolling road  :y
Title: Re: my 2000 MV6 project
Post by: MV6 MAN on 10 March 2012, 20:23:04
Forgot to say, every bend is mandrel aswell which is pritty cool, tho that is why it cost me an arm and a leg, but i wont go there lol
Title: Re: my 2000 MV6 project
Post by: omega3000 on 10 March 2012, 20:25:35
Looking at the picture i can see where to make the bends now , i bought a new mig welder xmas and not used it yet so will get some pipe and have a go

Will have a look down the breakers for some chrome tail pieces  ;)

Is that the standard silencer ?

No i ditched the old system, to be able to have room for the bends i had to re position the back box futher in to the car so i had room to mess about with making the twin exits

Yeah i see now how its further back now , exact measuring needed . All trial and error i guess , seen a stainless twin box on a bmw down the breakers so i might get that and try and make something up from that .

De-cat  :o  i can imagine the soundtrack  ;D :y

yer was thinking that but that part of the system does'nt really get that hot, well not hot enough that it would blow up the fuel tank lol, fingures crossed, its been on for two months now and its fine so will proberly run without  :)

I sent the car in to a companey called torque technique, but i designed the system with him, but the boxes were made from sratch to taylor fit the car so i could'nt help you with your question sorry, i would say there are quite a few companys that make sports box's or whatever you wanted so maybe search for that, dont know if that will help you just trial and error i guess  :)

well i soppose it depends how much money you have/or are willing to spend i guess, my system cost me £1800 so to me that is alot of money as i dont earn that much and trying to run this car alone is bad enough at 20 years old lol, but yer he is reasonable  :)

I'm sure that it wasn't, just that £1800 is a little steep.... I'm looking at building my own system and don't see myself spending more than £250ish.....
Hey, where's the videos??? I really wanna hear this thing.....

yer £1800 is alot but to be fair £300 of it was VAT, but the system is 2 and a half inch all the way on mandrel bends and beleive me there is no place/shop that would be cheap if you wanted mandrel bends, they are the way forward with exhausts, get such a better flow, look it up mate, and yer i know i will get a video up soon but im so busy with work and doing stuff to the car i dont have much time to do it, but i will i promise :y

also to say that i dont know if anyone hear realises how much work goes into making manifolds for omega V6's but its crazy, he had to fabricate it as im still running the EGR valve aswell, but i dont want to go into it as its anoying when people do dig at me when anyone can do what they want to there cars

Well I apologise for any confusion. I tend not judge people especially on forums. However with a community as big as OOF you can't please everybody all the time but don't stop coming on here I for one am very interested in your project.

As a fabricator by trade, I know exactly how much work goes into such things.
I would place a guess they had the car for at least a week???
And as it has been said, you can't please everybody, one mans dream car is another mans shed! Lol just don't take things to heart and enjoy the forum.... :-)

On-line forums ay - so easy to misconceive someones comment. Some people have such strong opinions that others can get offended easilly. I'm a member of a fair few forums and OOF has got to have the easiest crowd of members. I've seen very few on here who set out to dig at others

£1800 is a lot of money - YES, BUT look at what you have for it. :y

Keep us all updated on progress/videos etc
