Title: car seats
Post by: paul.lovejoy on 19 January 2012, 18:48:28
has anyone removed the existing car seat cover and replaced it with another .

its only the front seats i have some elite seats i want to fit into a CD but the new seats are a lighter grey so rather than replace the rear seats to match is it possible just to change the seat fabric if that all makes sense :y

To take the fabric off you will need to take the rear seats out anyway, so why not just swap seats, or Im I missing something here Paul.

Chris.

I know people have dismantled cloth seats to replace heater elements, so would assume its doable. :-\

Time and Patience :y.

Straight forward enough though, before my SEAT went back to the finance company I stripped all the seat covers off and ran them through the washing machine, They did shrink slightly ::)

Hardest/fiddliest thing is probably releasing/refitting the Hog rings that hold the cover to the seat frame :-\

He is having trouble sourcing a rear seat the same colour as the front seats he wants to fit.Changing from standard cloth in the front to elite cloth with memory. So,is asking about the possibility of swapping the covers from current front seats to the elite front seats to have them all the same colour. :y

Having partially removed the base seat cover to sort the heated mat, I'd say it wouldn't be too difficult to swap both covers.
