Title: The joys of village life
Post by: Elite Pete on 21 January 2012, 09:33:33
Really slow internet, regular power cuts to the point where i'm going to use car batteries and LEDs for some emergency lighting and to top it off no water this morning :(

On the plus point, there's a good village pub/eatery only 2 minutes walk away ::)

I can see 3 powerstations from my house,
since we lived here I have never had so many powercuts, we have a genny on standby,

ohh and not being in a village means no streetlights, no streetsweeping, no mains drains or gas,
oh and the nearest bus is a mile away.

My previous address in a city 789 crime incidents, internet about 5-6meg, social engineering = resentful neighbourhood

New address in v.small town  / 7 crime incidents, 15meg internet (nice and close to the exchange), friendly neighbours and a pub at the end of the road! They don't grit the roads and I have some crazy inclines to get "out" though and actually it's cheating as it's only about 10m from Bath and 25 from Bristol.

Love city life, but it's great to feel the buildings slip away as the roads open up after a week of hell in the smoke!
