Title: 2.5 V6 E -Automatic gearbox indicator led lights go off when turn the lights on

Hello to all fellow Omega owners,
I'm new to this forum.
I've just bought Opel Omega 2.5 v6 estate (from Switzerland) and still learning and discovering... it is dark red, beautiful and well taken care of ...
I've noticed that, when I turn the car lights on, then the small indicator lights beside the automatic gear (P-R-N-D..) go off. If I switch off the lights, LEDs come back again.... I wonder if this thing can be repaired....

Sorry I can't help with the problem, but welcome to the forum - you've come to the right place  :y
Someone will be along soon who has a much better knowledge of these things  :y

sounds like a broken earth, when the illumination comes on it earthing through the leds

Mine do the same, since I am in Sweden (car sold new in Sweden) the lights are always on when you start the car. But the switch is set to off and the gear indicator lights are on. When I turn on the lights, have to do that at night to get illumination on the dash, the gear indicator lights go out.

I can live with it...

Yes, it's not a big deal anyway... Can live with it...
However, it would be good to now if anyone have faced with the same problem and sort it out. Is the replacement of the broken part (whatever it is) the only solution? Can it be repaired, cleaned, soldered or whatever...?!
